I believe love is the best form of expression.
Handmade is a characteristic present in my work. To me, it represents affection, and that is what I believe. I use handwork to highlight the beauty of things made by real hands.
I started at four years old in a small art school, loving to work with clay. I loved that cold clay, with a beautiful colour which we transform with our bare hands. Besides this contact with art, there was an observative and introspected child in me. I think my sharp vision for images and aesthetics in a general form might come from there, resulting in my interest in design.
The design is everywhere. In the objects, clothes, in the spaces. My vision of the spaces comes from my mother, who put together more than 20 homes during her life, reusing furniture and establishing the environments so that a good reception was noticeable. So, that was how I got invited to have an artistic view of objects and people.
My inspirations come from different places. Everything that happens reflects the aesthetics around us, and I use fashion as a starting point. I studied Fashion Design and Technology in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It was almost five years in the university where I would put everything of me into each tiny project, regardless of its importance. All projects were relevant. I liked to draw, write, sew, analyse, assemble, and most of it, I loved challenges. It is like it until today. I see all as a possibility, and challenges represent new creative perspectives and new stories to be told.
I am a free designer.
I know where I came from and what I want to reach with my creations.
I like to materialize ideas.
I like the deconstructed versions, the unknown, and the contemporary. I like colours and textures that combined might result in unique aesthetics.
Thinking about sustainability is something essential in my projects. Create on top of something we already have, transform reusing materials, thus giving them another meaning.
The concept is important. I always begin with it to create the story, and tell it through aesthetic language (objects, colours, textures, images, patterns).
So, it has been more than 15 years that I have been working with product design and visual narratives for fashion brands. I believe that it is possible to create original, authentic projects truly aligned with the brand's DNA. Here is where the heart, affection and emotion come when I dive with body and soul into the projects.
Everything for the best results.
"Carô is a multi-artist. She transits in the world of design, VM, fashion, art direction, and many others, always proposing unique aesthetics that make sense with her playful, sustainable and authorial universe."
"Carolina is an asset to the brand where I work. She started by helping us to develop more thoughtful collections aimed at our target audience and today works with our entire image on social networks. It is undoubtedly an important resource for digital growth of our brand."
"You can always identify something personally about you in each job. That's why she is demanding. A project is not just a project, it will be an extension of what she sees from the proposal."
I started working with Carolina in 2019
under my NAE Vegan Shoes brand and we've been collaborating to this day. Since then, the brand has made a significant difference in terms of its image, which is much cleaner and more professional. I highlight Carolina as the creative director of collection shootings where, always with enormous professional rigor, attention to detail and ability to adapt in the face of adversity, NAE managed to significantly increase the quality of its brand image. I am very proud that she is part of this project and it is undoubtedly a huge asset to have her with us.
"I think Carô is capable of making concepts palpable and visual. Excellent in developing products with a soul, which you feel have the hands and eyes of an artist."
